Project brief

Stakeholders wanted to quickly release an Apple Watch app to keep pace with competitors.

By providing a wearable app, we wanted to create an “always-on” experience that weaves into users’ daily lives.

Competitive audit

Research, design, and development time was limited. A competitive audit was conducted to understand user's expected interactions based on other products on the market.

Watch Concepts

Reviewing interactions and styles from Apple’s Interface Guidelines, I quickly explored a variety of solutions to display account balances and recent transactions. Utilizing API’s from our current app, information and interactions were limited for our first release.

After reviewing the concepts with the stakeholders, we decided to move forward with a direction that mimicked the tapable account tiles on our web and mobile apps. Using our iconography to easily identify account types helped maintain a glanceable interface, as referenced by Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.
